The 2013 Winton Cup will be held at Lilleshall on the weekend of 7th/8th September.  There will be a Gala Dinner at the Park Inn, Telford, on the Saturday evening.

This is a team event with combined teams from various regions in the UK.  Although the Scottish Veterans are not offering a team we have been asked if we are willing to supplement some of the "Northern" teams.  Full details can be found on the British Veterans website.

The Highland Open will be held on the weekend of 26th/27th October in Elgin.

The venue will be:

Saturday 26th October Check-in Times

Although fencing is no longer one of the events in the modern Commonwealth Games, a Commonwealth Fencing Championship event is run in parallel.  The 2014 event will be held in Largs, Scotland, starting Monday, 10 Nov 2014 and running through to Saturday, 15 Nov 2014. The following week there will be a Veteran's Commonwealth Fencing Championship at the same venue.

If you haven't managed to get selected to fence in either of these events, please consider volunteering to assist at them.  Contact Scottish Fencing for more details.

The M8 Open is another great open competition which forms part of the Celtic Passport.  The 2013 event will be held on the weekend of 16th/17th November in Bathgate.  

This is a 6 weapon event with 2 rounds of poules followed by direct elimination.  There is a free to enter secondary competition for those eliminated from the main competition.

Wallace Fencing Academy are holding the last of their 6 competitions of the 48er format this season on Saturday 11th May.

As with previous rounds, there will be medals galore and equipment vouchers from our sponsors Leon Paul Scotland to be won.

This competition will see the awarding of cash prizes for the series winners (£300 for the overall winner, £200 for the runner up and £100 for third place).

The Cumberland Open our closest non-Scottish event - only a quick trip across the border and the natives are usually friendly.  It is organised and run by Herdwick Fencing Club

This year's competition will held on the weekend of 15th/16th June 2013 at Austin Friars St Monica's School in Carlisle (CA3 9PB).

The competition is still quite new and entry numbers can be quite low, but there is usually large percentage of Scottish visitors.

The Doric Open 2013 will be held on the weekend of 6th/7th July at the Aberdeen Beach Leisure Centre.

Epee and Sabre will be on Saturday 6th and Foil on Sunday 7th.

Entry fees are £19 for one weapon or £25 for two - note if your entry is received before the 18th of May 2013 you will receive a £3 discount.

The Inverclyde Open will be held on the weekend of 1st/2nd June at the Inverclyde National Sports Centre, Burnside Road, Largs KA30 8RW

As in previous years, there is expected to be a team event on the Friday afternoon before (ie Friday 31st May).

The Veterans 5 Nations is being held this year in Dublin on May 4th & 5th and represents a great opportunity for another strong Scottish performance.

Fencers over 40 qualify as a "Veteran" for this event; although there are other further age bands for other veteran competitions.

Salle Rollo Fencing Club is holding its annual Sabre Challenge competition sponsored by RE/MAX Scotland.

This is an all electric, single round of poules competition with only a limited number of places through the cut - typically only semi and final places fenced of as direct elimination.  With a perpetual shield trophy awarded to the winner.

Arrive at the High School of Glasgow (Jordanhill) by 6:30pm for a 7pm start.  Entry fee is £5.
